Rhododendron (od antičkog grčkog ῥόδον rhódon „ruža“ i δένδρον déndron „drvo“)[2][3] je rod sa 1.024 vrsta drvenastih bilji iz Ericaceae familije, koje su bilo zimzelene ili listopadne, i nalaze se uglavnom u Aziji, mada su takođe široko raširene duž južnih visoravni Apalačijanskih planina u Severnoj Americi. Rhododendron je nacionalni cvet Nepala. Većina vrsta ima raskošne cvetove. Rod Azalea ima dva podroda među Rhododendron.

Rhododendron rod je najveći među rodovima Ericaceae familije, sa 1.024 vrsta,[4] mada procene variraju od 850-1.000 u zavisnosti od korištenog izvora,[5] i morfološki je raznovrstan. Konsekventno taksonomija je istorijski bila kompleksna.[6][7][8]
