The American Economic Review (AER) er et amerikansk økonomisk tidsskrift som blir publisert av American Economic Association (AEA). Det ble først utgitt i 1911, 26 år efter at AEA ble grunnlagt.^[1] Tidsskriftet er nå et av de mest anerkjente innenfor sitt område.^[2]^[3]^[4] I både 2006 og 2007 var tidsskriftet det mest leste i hele JSTOR, blant 775 tidsskrifter.^[5] Den nåværende ansvarlige redaktøren er Pinelopi Koujianou Goldberg fra Yale University. AER er et open access-tidsskrift som er gratis fritt tilgjengelig på internett via AEAs hjemmeside.
