Hasköy (Armenian: Խասգյուղ, romanized: Khaskyugh; Kurdish: Dêrxas[2]) is a town in Muş Province of the Eastern Anatolia Region of Turkey. It is the seat of Hasköy District.[3] Its population is 13,057 (2022).[1] The mayor is Hikmet Karayel (AKP).

Demographics

The main town and two of the nearby villages are populated by Arabs from the Bidri tribe, while Kurds reside in the other 16 villages. The Bidri tribe knows Arabic and Kurdish.[4][5] 4,000 Armenians lived in the area before the Armenian genocide in 1915.[6]
