Arsenal is a village of about 3000 people located in the district of Pamplemousses. It consists of the localities of Balaclava, Le Goulet, Petit Gamin and Arsenal

History

Arsenal got his name due to explosion of a Powder Mill causing death of slaves in 1884. There are about 3000 people in Arsenal, called Gunners. The village has its football club, Arsenal Wanderers. People are friendly there


Amenities

There are many facilities, such as a Government School, a Private School, a Pharmacy, a Shell Filling Station, a supermarket, a public beach (Balaclava Public Beach), a stationery shop, a hair saloon and duty free shops. Agriculture is being replaced by tourism as the village has known much development these years.
